MEET THE TEAM

Mary Ellen Lopez, along with her husband Richard, is the owner of Mariposa Medical Spa and has been in practice as a nurse practitioner for over 23 years and 17 years as an aesthetic injector and holds the title of master injector.

​

She also has extensive experience treating patients of all ages with a functional medicine approach and uses many holistic options for achieving whole health. Mary Ellen has additional training in hormone replacement therapy for men and women, nutrition, fitness and personal training (NASM) and holds certifications for these specialties.

She brings this expertise and decades of experience into her care and counseling for clients. Mary Ellen speaks Spanish as well. 

Mary Ellen was a recipient of the New Mexico Nursing Excellence award in Advanced Practice Nursing in 2005.

Mary Ellen is married to her high school sweetheart and they have 3 children together and 4 grandchildren. Her passion is fitness and nutrition and she practices it in her day to day life. 

Richard is owner of our medical spa along with his wife MaryEllen. He is a solutions architect at Los Alamos National Laboratory. He has made health and wellness a huge part of his life and shares this with his community.

Richard and MaryEllen are high school sweethearts and have 3 children and 4 grandchildren. He’s an avid bowhunter and loves the outdoors.

Ariana is our aesthetician and one of our medical assistants. Ariana was born and raised in Santa Fe and is the daughter of Richard and Mary Ellen. Post high school Ariana served in the US Army and worked as a diesel mechanic.

She is married and is a dog & cat mom. She loves the outdoors, enjoys reading, has a passion for strength training, and is an avid bowhunter. We are very thankful for her service. 

Mckayla is our medical assistant and nurse intern. McKayla worked at Christus St. Vincent for 3 years as a CNA, where she worked in the COVID unit for 1.5 years. She is working toward her BSN and will be working in a new role as an RN very shortly. McKayla has been apart of Mariposa since February 2021.

McKayla is married and has a son, Luca Jay. We are excited for her growth and look forward to her future with us. 

Victoria Lopez was born and raised in Santa Fe. She has a passion for customer service and helping her community. Victoria is a natural leader who has over 10 years of medical office management. 

Victoria and her partner, Gabe, are proud parents of their two children and two fur babies. On Victoria’s free time she enjoys traveling and spending time with friends and family.

Lidia is one of medical assistants. She was born and raised in Santa Fe. Lidia is the owner of ZiaPeach jewelry. She also is going to continue her education in Cosmetics Lasers. Lidia is also fluent in Spanish. She is excited for the future here at Mariposa. 

Lidia is married to Jesse Peach, they have two boys and two fur babies. On her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and making jewelry. 

Alyce Rubio is completing her senior year of high school and has an interest in pursuing a medical degree or criminal justice degree after graduation. 

Lucas Lopez is completing his senior year of high school and has an interest in pursuing a profession in the medical field. Lucas is Mary Ellen and Richard's son, as well as Ariana's younger brother. 

He has received a scholarship to Arizona Christian University to play basketball.
